After it is applied, the foil is heated with a standard household hairdryer and shrinks into place, forming a transparent coating with no wrinkles or buckling.

The independent engineering firm of ebök, which is based in the German city of Tübingen and specializes in energy management, calculated that tesamoll® Thermo Cover window insulation foil can yield savings of between six and eight percent. At prices of between 2 and 3.20 euros per square meter, depending on the size selected, consumers can save 5 to 7 euros per square meter of window area.

But the household budget isn’t the only thing to benefit from this foil solution; it enhances comfort in the home as well. In the winter, single-glazed windows in particular accumulate unpleasant condensation that has a considerable negative impact on comfort inside the home. By forming an additional layer of air, tesamoll® Thermo Cover window insulation foil helps to substantially reduce condensation buildup.

tesamoll® Thermo Cover window insulation foil is available in Germany in two sizes: 2.5 square meters at a price of EUR 7.99 and 6 square meters for EUR 12.99. It will be available at many home improvement stores starting in September.
