tesa is a European Company as of March 30

Conversion marks the company’s choice of a contemporary, international corporate form.
AG becomes SE: Starting March 30, 2009, tesa is using the new legal form for corporations in the European Union: the Societas Europaea, abbreviated SE. The tesa Supervisory Board had approved this conversion last year.

The SE form was developed by the EU with the aim of creating a uniform legal form for corporations and enlarging the scope of commerce and enterprise across borders. This corporate form has existed since November 2004 and will, in the future, increasingly be a part of economic life in all of the member states of the EU and contribute to consistent perception Europe-wide. By the end of 2007, more than 40 well-known German companies had already converted to the SE form or re-established themselves as such.

“We do not want to distance ourselves from this development,” explains tesa CFO Jan Christoph Teetz. “We are committed to our home market of Europe, which forms the starting point of our global activities.”

The present-day tesa SE has been a wholly owned subsidiary within the Beiersdorf group of companies since 2001. In 2008, tesa earned sales of 860 million euros worldwide.
